The Charleston Daily Mail has an article on their website about a new book, Along Virginia's Appalachian Trail. The book was written by Leonard Adkins, an accomplished author and hiker who has hiked the entire length of the AT on five separate occasions.The book was produced in cooperation with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. The team hopes to publish similar books for the other sections of the trail in the future. The book includes dozens of vintage photographs—most never before published—that document the history of the trail and the volunteers who made it possible from the time it was first proposed in 1921 until more recent years.
