15th Annual Trailfest in Hot Springs
Saturday, April 9th, 2011On Friday, April 15th, is a free rafting and river cleanup trip that includes breakfast and lunch at Huck Finn River Adventures. Then, later that evening, from 5-7 p.m., is a spaghetti dinner at the Community Center.
On Saturday, April 16th, is all-day music, drawings, hiker games, and at 4:45 p.m. the World Famous Duck Race in Spring Creek. The winner of the plastic duck race takes $100.

National Parks quarters unveiled
Friday, March 26th, 2010The five quarters are the first of 56 that will be issued between 2010 and 2021. They will include 48 National Park sites, two U.S. Fish and Wildlife sites, and six U.S. Forest Service sites.
The coins will be issued sequentially in the order in which the featured location was first placed under the care of the federal government.Hot Springs National Park was established as Hot Springs Reservation in 1832 and later became a national park. Yellowstone National Park was established in 1872, followed by Yosemite in 1890 and the Grand Canyon in 1893.
Quarters featuring Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be issued in 2014 while the Blue Ridge Parkway coins will be issued in 2015.
