Firefly shuttle service now offered in Townsend

The Maryville Daily Times is reporting this morning that the National Park Service has granted permission to Cades Cove Heritage Tours to offer a shuttle service to the site.

The event runs from June 5-12. The cost is $1 per person of any age. Seats on the shuttles are expected to sell out quickly. Anyone interested should call 865-448-8838 or book online at www.cadescoveht.org.

The shuttles are the only way for the public to travel to see the fireflies. The Park is closing the Elkmont entrance road to private motor vehicles and pedestrian use every night from 5 p.m. until midnight, June 5-13, except to registered campers staying at the Elkmont Campground
